Ans.    PBS collects data from the field through Regional/Field Offices under the supervision of the Field Services Section.

Ans.    The Field Services Section played an important role by making maximum efforts in concrete coordination with Local Government to implement the field plan for the successful completion of the First-Ever Digital Census in 2023.

Ans.    The Field Services Section was bifurcated into two sections, namely FS-I and FS-II, due to the workload associated with Census.

Ans.    FS-I was assigned the monitoring of progress and Census field activities in 15 Regional/Field Offices of Province Punjab and 8 Regional/Field Offices of Province Sindh, covering a total of 93,746 Blocks and 43,838 Blocks, respectively.

Ans.    FS-II was assigned the monitoring of progress and Census field activities in 5 Regional Offices of KP, 4 Regional/Field Offices of Balochistan, ICT Islamabad, 1 Regional office in AJ&K, and 1 Field Office of GB.

Ans.    FS-I and FS-II collectively covered a total of 185,509 Blocks for the conduct of the Digital Census.

Ans.    The division allowed for a more focused and efficient monitoring of Census activities, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate data collection process.

Ans.    The CSCs are established by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) to facilitate the timely completion of field operations at the local level, making enumeration more cost-effective.

Ans.    PBS has 18 Regional and 16 Field Offices spread across the country to ensure the efficient completion of field operations.

Ans.    For the First-Ever Digital Census, Assistant Commissioners/Deputy Commissioners were appointed as Census District Officers (CDOs) to maintain close liaison with PBS.

Ans.   PBS established 495 CSCs at the Census District level, with PBS staff deployed at each center, equipped with furniture and IT equipment for smooth Census activities.

PBS decided that CSCs at the District level could be transformed into Camp Offices, where PBS representation is not available, or CSCs at Tehsil level remained functional as needed.

Ans.    The regular activities include Population & Housing Census, Agricultural Census,   Economic Census, Labor Force Survey, Budget Document collection, Road Transport Survey, Gross Fixed Capital Formation Survey, PSLM/HIES Survey, Economic Census, and Price Collection.

Ans.    PBS extends services to other departments by providing Provision of Maps, Physical Identification of Blocks/Mouzas, and Enumeration for conducting Surveys, utilizing its Field Force.
